Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they apply to your registration and participation at the Inter-Regional Research Symposium (IRRS).

The 2024 IRRS in Bangkok, Thailand is planned as an in-person-only event.

By attending the 2024 IRRS, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions below (hereinafter the 'Terms'), which form an agreement between you and SEAMEO RIHED.

Please also note that by participating in the IRRS, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Terms.

1. Definitions

1.1 General

1.1.1. The term ‘IRRS’ or ‘Symposium’ means the biennial SEAMEO RIHED Inter-Regional Research Symposium.

1.1.2. The term SEAMEO RIHED refers to the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development.

1.1.3. The term Symposium Organiser refers to SEAMEO RIHED, which manages the 2024 IRRS logistics, including registration and is the data custodian for all personal details collected for purposes of promoting IRRS events.

1.2 Registration

1.2.1. The terms ‘Attendee’, or ‘Registrant’ refer to any person who registers and/or attends the Symposium.

1.3 Speakers, Programme and Call for Abstracts

1.3.1. The term ‘Speaker’ refers to any keynote speaker, moderator, or panellist who is participating in the 2024 IRRS sessions.

1.3.2. The term ‘Presenter’ in the context of the Programme or Call for Abstracts, refers to a person who presents original research at the 2024 IRRS.

 

2. Registration Terms and Conditions

 

All Attendees of the 2024 IRRS (including all Registrants, Speakers, and Presenters) must be aware of, and agree to, the IRRS Registration Terms and Conditions.

2.1 Payment of registration

2.1.1. A registration is considered complete when full payment is received by the Symposium Organiser.

2.1.2. The payment of an individual or group registration is accepted by bank transfer to the Symposium Organiser’s bank account.

2.1.3. An invoice will be issued for individual and group registrations and payment is accepted only by bank transfer. Registrants are responsible for any bank charges associated with the transfer of full payment. Within one week after submitting proof of payment, a copy of the receipt will be issued to registrants via email and the original receipt will be given in person at the Symposium.

2.1.4. Registration payment is waived in the case of invited speakers and sponsored panellists.

2.2 Registration Categories

2.2.1. Early Bird Registration: To qualify for the early bird registration rate, registration fees must be received by 28 June 2024 (the date of making payment, not the date of receipt of the registration form).

2.2.2. Regular Registration: To qualify for the regular registration rate, registration fees must be received by September 30 2024 for presenters and October 31 2024 for attendees (the date of making payment, not the date of receipt of the registration form).

2.2.3. Registration is offered for both individuals and groups. Group registration applies to a group of presenters or attendees who purchased a group of individual registrations as a package.

2.3 Transfer of Registration, Non-Attendance, and Cancellation

2.3.1. All fully paid registrations for attendees are transferable to other persons within your organisation until 8 November 2024.

2.3.2. Transfer requests must be made by the registered person in writing to SEAMEO RIHED at symposium2024@rihed.seameo.org. Details must include the full name of the replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be carried over to the new person unless otherwise specified.

2.3.3. No refund will be made for non-attendance at the Symposium.

2.3.4. No refund for unused registration in a group registration package will be made.

2.3.5. All cancellations of the registration by attendees and presenters must be made in writing to SEAMEO RIHED at symposium2024@rihed.seameo.org.

2.3.6 No refund will be made in the case of cancellation of Registration by a registrant.

2.4 Intellectual Property Rights

2.4.1. All rights in all presentations, documentation and materials published or otherwise made available as part of the Symposium are included with the permission of the owner of the rights.

2.4.2. No part of the materials and content presented should be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise, or republished in any form or by any means without the express written permission of the presenter or speaker.

2.5 Privacy

2.5.1. SEAMEO RIHED understands that your privacy is important to you, and we are committed to complying with the Personal Data Protection Act (2019) of Thailand concerning all information that we collect from you.

2.5.2. By attending the IRRS, you acknowledge that photography and video recording will take place and that photographs or visual and audio recordings of attendees may be captured and retained for further promotional purposes. If you do not consent to any of your personal details being shared, please inform the Symposium Organiser in writing.
