Partnerships in Higher Education
This special issue of Higher Education in Southeast Asia and Beyond (HESB) was supported in partnership between SEAMEO RIHED, EU SHARE and the HEAD Foundation and features more than ten original commissioned articles from key partners in regional higher education.
Our Mission and Strategic Priorities
SEAMEO RIHED works to foster cooperation and provide policy platforms among governments and universities to enhance higher education for the sustainable future of the Southeast Asian region.
Our key priorities, which align with the SEAMEO Education Agenda and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, form four strategic areas that shape the focus of our work for the region.
Policy Dialogue
We provide platforms for multilateral and inter-governmental dialogue to align higher education sectors and enhance resiliency and sustainability.
Leadership
We empower leaders with futuristic mindsets as well as strategic, agile, and transformative thinking for the increasing uncertainties, complexities, and challenges of the world.
Mobility and
Linkages
We promote inclusive mobility and linkages through engagement with regional and international partners to develop global citizens and lifelong learners.
Knowledge Maximisation
We pursue research and knowledge projects at regional and international levels to provide policy options and directions to help decision makers.
Our Networks
Our networks connect partners and stakeholders within Southeast Asia and with other regions of the world.
AIMS
The Asian International Mobility for Students Programme supports the mobility of students and enhances cooperation in higher education among governments, universities and learners in Asia.
GMS-UC
The Greater Mekong Sub-region University Consortium (GMS-UC), fosters experience sharing, mutual partnerships and provision of technical support through capacity building.
SEA-Europe
SEA-Europe is a new initiative that invites Southeast Asian and European partners and stakeholders to co-create innovative learning mobility for sustainable development.
Other Networks
Three networks have been established in coordination with the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) to promote mutual understanding and information sharing between Southeast Asia and China.
