Aims and Objectives
This Project aims to create a sustainable network of leaders among Southeast Asian and UK higher education institutions in making universities more diverse and inclusive.
Leadership enhancement is crucial for leaders of higher education institutions and systems alike. Higher education leaders can benefit from a futuristic mindset as well as strategic, agile, and transformative thinking, especially when faced with increasing uncertainties, complexities, and global challenges. With the recognition that gender and related concepts of EDI are prerequisites for inclusive growth, fairness, transparency, and sustainability, ensuring gender EDI can enhance effective decision-making processes and encourage an institutional learning community across regions empowered to develop and leverage knowledge, skills, and networks to transform leadership and governance.
This sustainable network and the partnerships among university leaders of South East Asia and the UK will promote the exchange of contextual insights, knowledge, and good practices on Gender EDI in higher education. The results of this process will reinforce participating university leaders’ mutual understanding of the importance of gender EDI for higher education leadership and promote mutual respect for equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
