On 20-21 February 2018, SEAMEO RIHED had the pleasure of taking part in the 1st SEAMEO Centre’s Policy Research Network Task Force Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

The SEAMEO Centre’s Policy Research Network Task Force (SEA-CPRN) was first introduced as a component of the SEAMEO College, a project launched in 2013. The Policy Research Network was established to enhance the relevance and sharpen the responsiveness of SEAMEO Centres and the SEAMEO Secretariat to the needs of education leaders for policy research to address human resource development issues in the region of Southeast Asia.

 

 

Representatives of 16 SEAMEO Centres and the SEAMEO Secretariat attended the two-day Meeting to discuss the functions of the SEA-CPRN Task Force as well as develop a plan of action for the Network from 2018-2020. In addition to participation from the SEAMEO Secretariat and SEAMEO Regional Centres, Dr. Vignesh Naidu, Operations Director of the HEAD Foundation, Prof. Dr. Chanita Rukspollmuang, Assistant President of Siam University and Mr. Wesley Robert Teter, Senior Project Officer, Section for Educational Innovation and Skills Development (EISD), UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau for Education also joined the Meeting to offer their perspectives on policy research needs in Southeast Asia.
