8th Model ASEM 2017

 

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is organizing the 8th Model ASEM in Yangon and Naypyidaw, Myanmar on 15-20 November 2017, held in conjunction with the 13th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

The 8th Model ASEM is a platform for university students to be a part of the ASEM process and meet with ASEM Foreign Ministers and Senior Officials, offering opportunities to fine-tune skills in the fields of diplomacy, negotiation, consensus-building and public speaking.

 

The programme highlights include:  

  1. Online Preparatory Phase (ca. 6 weeks) of online crash courses on policy making, webinars on Asia-Europe relations and individual and group tasks and research
  2. 4-day conference in Yangon and Naypyidaw, and practical trainings and visits to Diplomatic Missions of ASEM countries and International Organisations located in Yangon to gain in-depth knowledge about operations and functions
  3. 13th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, to meet with Foreign Ministers of ASEM countries at the official Welcome Reception

Eligibility:

  1. Citizens of any of the 51 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) partner countries
  2. Students between 18-30 years old, with sincere interest in international relations
  3. Strong command of English (verbal and written)
