Regional Seminar on Curriculum Structure and Development for Southeast Asian Higher Education

The SEAMEO RIHED Regional Seminar, held in conjunction with the SEAMEO RIHED Governing Board Meeting, brings together policy makers in higher education, university executives, faculty members and other experts in higher education to share and discuss selected seminar themes according to emerging trends in higher education. The 2017 Regional Seminar will be organised on 4 August 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and will focus on undergraduate curriculum structure and development in Southeast Asian higher education.

Increasingly, higher education is being faced with finding ways to prepare graduates to become more engaged and globally-minded. This is challenging existing characteristics of institutions and learning experiences as well as the methods and resources for teaching and learning. Movements towards output-based notions of outcomes in higher education are increasingly influencing the design, development and evaluation of curricula.  The 2017 Regional Seminar addresses these trends and seeks to identify regional approaches to the structuring and current implementation of undergraduate curricula as well as the development of learning outcomes for Southeast Asian higher education.
